Seven-time champions Thailand have been drawn in an easy group for the upcoming SEA Games while Vietnam found themselves in the championship”s Group of Death after the draw recently.

Thailand are in Group A alongside Malaysia, Cambodia and hosts the Philippines prompting the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) General Secretary Worawi Makudi to remark that the team would win their eighth title. SWe are a little bit lucky because we will not face the strong teams like Vietnam and Singapore. I believe we will get to the final round smoothly,⬝ said Worawi.

The format for the SEA Games is a round robin, with the first and second team in each group playing for the medals.

Meanwhile, Vietnam coach Alfred Riedl was left ruing his team”s grouping with Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia and Singapore. SIt has been the worst draw result since I took over the under-23 team,⬝ Riedl was quoted as saying by the local media. SHowever, my men are ready to face all challenges and difficulties to achieve a good result”.
