Midako Nam Dinh occupy top spot of the table of the national championship/V-League after a 2-1 victory in Hanoi. Elsewhere in Quy Nhon, the Central Vietnam derby between last week”s leaders Da Nang and PISICO Binh Dinh ended 0-0.

As usual, meetings between LG.HN.ACB and Midako Nam Dinh became heated on and off the pitch. On Sunday, Midako Nam Dinh dominated their hosts from kick off. The visitors separated the hosts” forwards Mauricio Luis and Mbabazi with midfielders. That is why the hosts failed to threaten Midako Nam Dinh”s defence.

Meanwhile, Midako Nam Dinh, inspired by former under-23 player Le Duc Duong, produced an excellent run. In the third minute, Duc Duong hit the crossbar after a one-two combination with Thanh Nguyen. In the 40th minute, Thanh Nguyen headed Duc Duong”s corner kick in, opening the scoring.

As the match passed the hour mark, Duc Duong made it 2-0, converting a spot kick.
Mauricio scored a consolation goal in the 76th minute after two consecutive attempts.
After a victory, Midako Nam Dinh occupy the top spot with 18 points. They lead Da Nang on a head-to-head result.

Else where in Quy Nhon, dark horses PISICO Binh Dinh failed to beat last week”s leaders Da Nang in a Central Vietnam derby. Da Nang, who were missing Rogerio, played the long ball with pinpoint crosses from centreback Nguyen Manh Dung. They troubled the home side”s defence. In the 22nd and 40th minutes, Luiz forced goalkeeper Minh Quang to work hard.

In the mean time, Thai striker Sorayoot, who inspired PISICO Binh Dinh to beat Binh Duong 3-0 one week ago, had only one opportunity but he failed to round advancing goalkeeper Vo Van Hanh. Sorayoot then hit the cross bar with a freekick. The two sides seem to have been satisfied with a draw. Da Nang, despite having earned the same total of 18 points lost their top spot to Midako Nam Dinh. However, Da Nang have one game in hand.

In Haiphong, Mistustar Haier Haiphong trounced Hoa Phat Hanoi, who were once considered as title contenders, 5-1, in a match each of two sides went down to ten men. The hosts went in front in the 20th minute with an opener by Khanh Hung. In the 38th minute, Dang Van Thanh scored a wonderful goal from 35 metres.

In the second half, the home side scored three more goals by Julien and Van Thanh.
William scored a consolation goal for Hoa Phat Hanoi in the 79th minute.
In Pleiku, a goal by Kesley Alves helped two-time champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai move further out of the danger zone.

In the third minute, Kesley chested down Ba Khoi”s cross before finding the net with a volley. This was the first goal for Kesley after a 720 minute draught.

Other results were as follows: in My Tho, Pomina Steel Tien Giang drew 3-3 with Binh Duong in an interesting goal chase, and Khatoco Khanh Hoa beat PJICO Song Lam Nghe An 3-1.
