With three more rounds remaining in the league, only Da Nang and Binh Duong, both on 34 points, have a realistic chance of catching up with Dong Tam Long An who are seven points ahead.
Amaobi led from the front with a brace in Da Nang”s massive win while the other goals were supplied by Quang Tuan, Rogerio and Thanh Thong. Defending champions HAGL drifted eight points behind Binh Duong after a 0-1 defeat to LG HN ACB with the solitary winner coming from Mauricio Luis.
In the other Sunday games, Julien grabbed a brace and enabled M.Hai Phong to upend HL.Binh Dinh 2-1 who pulled one back through Sarayroot. SD.Nam Dinh heaped more misery on D. Dong Thap and pushed them firmly into the relegation zone with a 3-1 win. Van Nhien and Ngoc Linh scored for the winners while Thanh Binh reduced the margin for D.Dong Thap.
Van Quyen and Cong Vinh fired P.SLNA to a 2-0 victory over TMN.CSG.
