National Football Championship Division 2

3 of 4 spots for the 2026 National Second Division Finals confirmed

The Matchday 13 fixtures of the 2026 National Second Division Football Championship, held on the afternoon of June 2, proved to be a turning point in the race for qualification to the Finals. Following this round, three of the four available spots in the Finals have officially been secured.

In Group A, Young Hanoi continued to display consistent form with a 1-0 away victory over Ha Tinh Sports Training and Competition Center. This marked the capital side’s sixth win of the season, taking their tally to 24 points after 12 matches. Young Hanoi remain unbeaten and firmly at the top of the standings.

In the other match played at the same time at Thanh Tri Stadium, Hue defeated Young Cong An Ha Noi 3-1 to move up to 22 points after 11 matches. Meanwhile, PVF were held to a 1-1 draw by Young SHB Da Nang and collected only one point, bringing their total to 14.

With the current standings, Group A has officially confirmed its two finalists: Young Hanoi and Hue. After Matchday 13, third-placed Ha Tinh Sports Training and Competition Center have 16 points with only one match remaining. Even if the Ha Tinh side secure all three points in the final round, they can reach a maximum of 19 points—still not enough to overtake Hue (22 points) and Young Hanoi (24 points).

In Group B, the race for a place in the Finals remains highly competitive. Lam Dong earned an important 2-0 away win against Tay Ninh to move to the top of the table with 22 points after 11 matches. Meanwhile, Quang Ngai defeated Vinh Long 3-0 at home to reach 21 points, level with Truong Giang Gia Dinh but placed behind on goal difference.

In the remaining fixture, Mekong Can Tho and Dak Lak played out a 1-1 draw.

This round’s results also secured Lam Dong’s place in the Finals. With 22 points, the Central Highlands side are guaranteed a Top 2 finish in Group B because the two chasing teams—Truong Giang Gia Dinh and Quang Ngai—will face each other in the final round. As a result, only one of the two teams can possibly surpass Lam Dong’s 22-point mark, while the other will inevitably finish below them.

As it stands, three teams have officially secured their places in the 2026 National Second Division Finals: Young Hanoi, Hue and Lam Dong.

The final ticket will be decided after the last qualifying round on June 7. The spotlight in Group B will be on the direct clash between Quang Ngai and Truong Giang Gia Dinh. The winner will automatically qualify for the Finals. If the match ends in a draw, Truong Giang Gia Dinh will advance thanks to their superior head-to-head record, having won the first meeting 3-0.
