Representing the main sponsor, Toyota Vietnam, was General Director Keita Nakano.

The National U9 Football Championship was first held in 2021 with the participation of 16 teams from 16 provinces and cities across the country. Over the past four years, the tournament has garnered attention from government leaders, local departments and agencies, football fans, and especially young players nationwide. In 2025, thanks to its continuous growth, the National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025 has attracted 30 U9 teams to register for the competition.

VFF Vice President Nguyễn Xuân Vũ affirmed: “Although the National U9 Football Championship is for the youngest age group, it is a meaningful and valuable playground. Over the past four years, the tournament has become a platform for primary school students to showcase their abilities, helping to spread the love for football in schools. The Vietnam Football Federation hopes that this year’s tournament will continue to deliver passionate, fair, and beautiful matches.”

Writer and journalist Nguyễn Phan Khuê – Member of the Central Team Council, Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children’s Newspaper, and Head of the Organizing Committee – expressed hope that through the tournament, Vietnamese football can discover and nurture young talents, contributing to building a strong football foundation.

“We hope that in the next 5 to 10 years, we will be able to reap more sweet fruits and make meaningful contributions to the development of our national football,” said Nguyễn Phan Khuê, Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children’s Newspaper.

The National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025 will take place in Tây Ninh from August 9 to August 26, featuring teams from across the country, including: Tuyên Quang, Vĩnh Phúc, Phú Thọ, Bắc Ninh, Thái Bình, Hanoi FC, Hanoi Police, PVF – CAND, H.X.S Hanoi, Hải Phòng, Luxury H.L Quảng Ninh, Gia Bảo Hải Dương, Hưng Yên, Việt Hùng Thanh Hóa, Sông Lam Nghệ An, Phù Đổng, T&T VSH, Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh, SHB Đà Nẵng, Thuận An Bình Dương, Khuyến Nông Bình Phước, Gia Lai, Đắk Nông, Ho Chi Minh City, Ban Mê Ngọc Hùng, and Văn Tâm.

Sharing with the young players, national team player Phạm Tuấn Hải fondly recalled:
“When I was 9 years old, I cried because I missed home after just two days of training. That was the first and also the last time I cried. Back then, just like you, I was punished by my coaches too. But thanks to that, I learned a lesson and started to focus more seriously on football. I hope you all try your best and always keep your passion alive so you can contribute to Vietnamese football in the future. The most important quality of a football player is professional ethics, even before technical skills.”

Responding to an interesting question from a young player, Vietnamese national team captain Đỗ Duy Mạnh shared:
“This is truly a meaningful and beneficial playground for kids. Every summer, the Vietnam Football Federation and the Young Pioneers and Children’s Newspaper organize this event for the children. When I was 7 or 8 years old, I also participated in a tournament just like you are now. Those are unforgettable memories.”
