AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers draw on June 23
The 2011 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers draw will be held on June 23 at the AFC House.
The 2011 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers draw will be held on June 23 at the AFC House.
Teams from ASEAN/East and South and Central/West zones will be split into two groups for the Round 1 of qualifiers which will be played from September 20 to 24, 2010.
The bottom eight ranked teams will be placed in these two groups according to zones.
Pot 1 will include three teams from ASEAN/East – Myanmar, Philippines and Hong Kong while Iran, India, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Jordan will be placed in Pot 2 which represents South and Central/West zone.
There will be a single group format for Qualification Round 2 which is scheduled to be held from October 21 to 30, 2010.
Teams ranked 6-8 from the last competition – Vietnam, Thailand and Chinese Taipei have been given a direct entry to this round. They will be joined by group winners of Round 1. Only the top team from Round 2 will qualify for tournament proper.
Top five teams from the last edition – Japan, Korea Republic, DPR Korea, China and Australia – have been given a direct entry into the tournament proper. The six-team Finals will have a one-round league format to determine the champions.
Venues for the qualification rounds will be confirmed at a later date.
