HA NOI — Samson Kayode scored a goal to help Dong Thap beat V-League defending champion Ha Noi T&T 3-1 on Saturday.

The win put the dark horse on top of the standings with 17 points. The team are one point ahead of Song Lam Nghe An, who crushed two-time champions Becamex Binh Duong 4-1.
The Nigerian striker is now at the top of the scoring list with nine goals after eight matches.
Midfielder Nguyen Van Nghia volleyed Cong Thuan’s right cross after 36 minutes of domination.
Samson fired a cannon shot on a breakaway that bounced off a defender before he put the ball in the back of the net during the 42nd minute.
Ha Noi T&T regrouped during the second half with Van Quyet netting the ball seven minutes in.
Nigerian Felix Gbenga Ajala scored the last goal to complete a convincing win for the southern team during the 66th minute.
Also yesterday, two-time V-League champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai beat Hoa Phat Ha Noi 2-1.
The 2008 champions, Da Nang were held to a 3-3 draw by Thanh Hoa at away stadium, while Ninh Binh took a 2-0 win over Hai Phong.
Dong Tam Long An drew with Navibank Sai Gon 1-1; Khanh Hoa edged the bottom team Ha Noi ACB 1-0.
