After the 21st round finished, excluding D.Dong Thap, relegated down to First League 2006, six other teams on 24 to 27 points will struggle for their V-League lives in the final round.
The Vietnam League resumed on Sunday after a three-week break and champions GDT.LA officially awarded the League Cup by Vietnam Football Federation President Nguyen Trong Hy after their 1-2 defeat to P.SLNA.
GDT.LA had made sure of the title in the 20th round itself and with just one more round remaining in the league the interest has shifted to the four basement dwellers – HP.Hanoi, LG.HN ACB, HL Binh Dinh and TMN.CSG – who are fighting hard to avoid a playoff with the fourth-placed team in the first division.
Of these HP.Hanoi did their chances of avoiding relegation no good after a goalless draw against fellow strugglers HL Binh Dinh while LG.Hanoi ACB and TMN CSG ground out a 1-1 deadlock. Now the fate of these clubs will be decided in the last round.
Elsewhere, former champions HAGL lost to SD Nam Dinh by a solitary goal and Da Nang defeated D.Dong Thap by the same margin.
