Defending champions Tien Giang exit under-21 tournament

Defending champions Tien Giang exited the under-21 football tournament, sponsored by Thanh Nien newspaper after a second consecutive defeat. Tien Giang lost 1-0 to An Giang on October 14.

In another match Binh Dinh drew 0-0 with Phu My Nam Dinh.

Defending Tien Giang had to pay the price for centreback Quoc Anh’s mistake. Quoc Anh softly backpassed the ball to his goalie, gifting Hai Dang a chance to score the winner to knock Tien Giang out.

Earlier, Tien Giang lost 2-1 to Phu My Nam Dinh.

In another match, Binh Dinh were held to a 0-0 draw by Phu My Nam Dinh.  

A day earlier, Da Nang and PVFC Song Lam Nghe An drew 5-5 while Dong Tam Long An edged hosts Khatoco Khanh Hoa with a 1-10 victory.
