24th Dec, Vietnam Women’s National team gathers to prepare for Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian Qualifiers Final Round
After 2 weeks of rest, 24th Dec, the Vietnam Women’s National Team will gather to prepare for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian Qualifiers Final Round at Korea in Feb 2020.
24/12/2019 09:40:08The list of 25 players that submitted to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training has the changes when head coach Mai Duc Chung decided to believe in the young players. Many new players were called from U19 Women’s team such as striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan, Ngan Thi Van Su, Nguyen Thi Truc Huong, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, goalkeeper Tran Thi Ngoc Anh. Two players have the first time to join the national team including Luong Thi Thu Thuong and Dinh Thi Thuy Dung.
Head coach Mai Duc Chung shared about the case of 3 players who cannot join the team: “At this time, Nguyen Thi Xuyen, Vu Thi Nhung, and Vu Thi Thuy are 3 players who do not join the team. They decided to stop playing to take care of their family and also because they want to spend the chance for the young players. In my mind, I agree with them and choose younger players to prepare the force for the future forward to SEA Games 31”.
According to the plan, all players will take attendance on morning 24th Dec and have the first training session on the same day afternoon at PVF. Head coach Mai Duc Chung, assistants Nguyen Anh Tuan, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, Doan Minh Hai, and Doan Thi Kim Chi, and two doctors will set 2 lessons per day. After 1st Jan, the team will go to Cam Pha (Quang Ninh) to practice the physical before come back to PVF and learn about the tactics since 10th Jan. The team will continue to stay at Hanoi until the Lunar New Year before going to Korea to join the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 Asian Qualifiers Final Round
At the Final Round, Vietnam is in group A with DPR Korea, Korea, and Myanmar while group B including Australia, China PR, Thailand, and China Taipei. Top 2 of this round will be the representative of Asia join the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Tokyo 2020 with host Japan. The group stage starts from 3rd Feb to 9th Feb 2020. The play-off will be 6th Mar and 11th Mar 2020.
