National Beach Soccer Championship 2020: Đà Nẵng won over champion defender Khánh Hòa by penalty
On the afternoon of Dec 24, the opening ceremony and opening match of the National Beach Soccer Championship 2020 were held at Nha Trang.
As expected, the competition between defending champion Khanh Hoa and defending runner-up Da Nang in the opening match took place very interesting and dramatic. The two teams continued to show off as formidable opponents in the race to the championship. After 19 minutes, Khanh Hoa took a 1-0 lead by Tran Vinh Phong. However, just 2 minutes later, Da Nang regained the balance with the goal of Ho Minh Tuan.
Move to the third half, Khanh Hoa one more time lead the game with the goal of Tran Vinh Phong at 26th minutes. However, they couldn’t keep the win when Ho Quoc Hung had a goal down for Da Nang at the last minute.
Draw after 3 main halfs, two teams joined the extra half and had to play penalty 9m.
At the penalty, Da Nang won 2-1 over Khanh Hoa.
Therefore, after the first round, the top team is Binh Thuan with the victory 5-4 over Gia Viet in the opening match, followed by Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and Gia Viet.
On the afternoon of Dec 25, the second round will kick-off at 14h00 with the match between Da Nang and Binh Thuan, while Khanh Hoa will meet Gia Viet at 15h30.
