The organisation of Vietnam’s home matches at the FIFA World Cup 2022 3rd Asian Qualifier
In the morning of Aug 16, Culture, Sports, and Tourism Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hosted a meeting with relevant ministries about the organisation of Vietnam’s home matches at the FIFA World Cup 2022 3rd Asian Qualifier.

In the meeting, on behalf of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Ministry, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong thanks the support of the ministries and authorities, especially during the difficult time because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the decision of the Government to host the matches of the Vietnam team at FIFA World Cup 2022 3rd Asian Qualifier, Deputy Miniter Hoang Dao Cuong required the relevant ministries and authorities to cooperate to successfully organise the matches as well as ensure the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the report and protocol of VFF on the organisation and “bubble principle”, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong suggested the relevant authorities have the guideline as soon as possible, suitable with the regulations of FIFA and AFC.
Due to the fast-changing of COVID-19 pandemic, the match between Vietnam and Australia on Sep 07 will play without the audience in the stadium. This will be based on the official decision of the Hanoi People’s Committee. For other matches, based on the reality, the Ministry will have detailed suggestions to the relevant authorities. The target is both to ensure the professional and prevention of COVID-19 as the measures of FIFA and AFC as well as regulations of MOH.

Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong assigned the LDBDVN to actively work with the Hanoi Department of Health to develop epidemic prevention, control plan, and propose the most optimal solution to ensure the successful organization of matches for Vietnam.
To prepare for this round, Vietnam Men’s national team has gathered in Hanoi since Aug 05 and apply the “bubble principle”.
As the plan, the team will go to Saudi Arabia on Aug 27 and have the match on Sep 02. After that, the team will back to Vietnam and have the first home match with Australia on Sep 07.
