VFF finished the contract with coach Gong Oh Kyun
As part of the preparation for the international missions of the U23 Vietnam in 2023 and the following years, the Vietnam Football Federation had discussion with the representative of coach Gong Oh Kyun about the contract that will expire in March 2023.

Based on the orientation of the VFF Standing Committee on the selection of a head coach for the national team and the U23 team, the Vietnam Football Federation and the representative of coach Gong Oh Kyun had a candid discussion about the goals and tasks in the coming period. After carefully considering the factors and based on the plans of the two sides, VFF decided not to extend the contract with coach Gong Oh Kyun.
VFF admits and appreciates the contributions of coach Gong Oh Kyun during the time in charged of national U23 Vietnam while Coach Park Hang Seo focused on the national team to compete in the World Cup Qualifiers and AFF Cup. In a short time leading the team, coach Gong Oh Kyun has made certain impressions when he and his team reached the quarterfinals at the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup.
VFF thanks the efforts and sense of responsibility of coach Gong Oh Kyun during his time in charge of the U23 national team and wishes coach Gong Oh Kyun success in his upcoming career.
