Early this morning, Pelé passed away at the age of 82 after a long time facing with cancer. On the morning of December 30, Vietnam Football Federation President Tran Quoc Tuan sent a letter of condolences to the Brazilian Football Confederation.
“We are sorely grieved to learn about the passing of the football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento, who is famously known as Pelé, one of the world’s greatest footballer of all time.
Mr. Pelé has departed for eternity, leaving a great sadness in the family of Brazilian people as well as the football world. On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to your Federation and the whole country for this tremendous loss.
Pelé is one-of-a-kind player and he remains as the only player in the history to win at 3 World Cups. He is a first global icon who inspires and bring the football love to everyone all over the world. Pelé has left us, but his legacy will always play an important part in the game of football.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brazilian Football Federation, Pelé’s family and the people of Brazil in this period of mourning…”
