VFF is preparing to announce the new head coach of the national team and U23 team
As part of the implementation of key tasks in 2023 and towards the goals of the team, which were approved at the 9th VFF Congress, the VFF had meet and worked with Mr. Philippe Troussier for the position of head coach of the national team and the U23 team.
This is a position that is considered to have an important role and has a great influence on the plan to implement development strategies at team levels. Therefore, the selection for this position has been carefully conducted by the VFF with a very strict process. Up to the present time, the VFF and Mr. Philippe Troussier have basically reached a consensus and agreement on the contents related to the job of the national team and the U23 team head coach as well as the goals and tasks in the coming period.
It is expected that the announcement ceremony will be held by the VFF before the end of February 2023. The first task of the new head coach will be to build the force and work plan of the U23 national team, which is expected to focus on early March to prepare for the 32nd SEA Game hosted by Cambodia in May 2023.
Philippe Troussier was born on March 21, 1955 in Paris, France. He is known as a football professional having served as head coach at various teams around the world, at club level as well as national team level. In particular, Mr. Philippe Troussier has spent 3 years working in Vietnam as Technical Director of PVF Youth Football Talent Training Fund and once led the U19 national team to qualifier the AFC U19 Asian Cup 2020.
