Coach Philippe Troussier was present in Vietnam, ready for a new task
On the morning of February 26, French strategist Philippe Troussier was present in Vietnam after a direct flight from Paris to Hanoi. He will take the reins to lead the Vietnamese national team towards a new stage of development. General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi and Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Thanh Ha went to the airport to welcome and greet the new head coach with flowers.
Returning to Vietnam this time, Mr. Philippe Troussier brought his compatriot Assistant – Mr. Moulay Lahsen Azzeggouarh Wallen, one of the associates who will be with Mr. Philippe Troussier in the upcoming journeys.
The event that coach Philippe Troussier came to Vietnam attracted great attention from the domestic media. Facing a warm welcome from a large number of representatives of press agencies at Noi Bai airport, coach Philippe Troussier shared: “It is a pleasure to return to Vietnam today, a country where I have been for 2 years. What I feel is very familiar, from the culture and people here. I feel honored and proud to take over the position of head coach of the Vietnam national team. I’m ready for a new mission. Leading the Vietnamese national team, a potential team, makes me feel motivated and excited. Thank you for your interest in me.”
Mr. Philippe Troussier has worked in Vietnam from 2018 to 2021, in the role of Technical Director of PVF Center and then led the U19 Vietnam national team. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Mr. Troussier’s plans were unfinished at that time.
The contract between VFF and the 67-year-old French coach will be for 3 years in the immediate future. With his proven ability and extensive experience, Mr. Philippe Troussier is expected to lead the Vietnam national football team to develop to new level and fulfill the set goals.
