Vietnam women’s team gain many experiences after the match against the former men’s team
This afternoon (March 30), the Vietnam women’s team had the second friendly match against the former men’s team. Despite losing with the final result of 3-4, coach Mai Duc Chung’s players learned a lot of useful experiences.
The Vietnam women’s team started with a squad consisting of many experienced players such as Thuy Trang, Bich Thuy, Hai Yen, and Duong Van…
With the difference in shape, the women’s team actively played counter-attack from the beginning. However, the former men’s team soon had the advantage with a goal in the 5th minute. The ball was pushed straight in the middle area to the 16m50 area. Midfielder Diem My awkwardly made an own goal.
Being led, the Vietnam women’s team still tries to play slowly, probably on the home side waiting for the opportunity to counterattack. This style of play shows great efficiency when Thai Thi Thao and Thuy Trang respectively have the opportunity to face and hit the opponent’s goal. In the last minutes of the first half of the match, the former players scored 2 consecutive goals to set the score 3-2 after 45 minutes.
In the second half of the match, the Vietnam women’s team made some changes when Thanh Nha and My Anh respectively were launched into the field. It was the player of Thai Nguyen T&T Women’s Club who scored to shorten the score to 3-4 in the final minutes of the match. Before that, the former team also scored one more goal at the beginning of the second half to make it 4-2.
After this friendly match, the Vietnam women’s team will have a final friendly match on Saturday afternoon on April 1 before shortening the list to attend the 2024 Olympic qualifying round against the Nepal women’s team.
