Vietnam Team kicked off FIFA Days with a 1-0 victory over Hong Kong (China)
Vietnam team kicked off FIFA Days in June with a 1-0 victory over Hong Kong (China) in a friendly match at Lach Tray Stadium, Hai Phong on the evening of June 15.
With the enthusiastic cheers of the fan in the Lach Tray Stadium, Vietnam team soon took control of the ball and continuously organized attacks towards the Hong Kong (China)’s goal. However, the strikers had quite a lot of difficulties in front of away team’s concentrated and very disciplined defense.
Meanwhile, the away team proved quite sharp in the counter-attack. If they were lucky, they might have had a goal in the 29th minute.
It was not until the 32nd minute that Vietnam team open a score when captain Ngoc Hai had a goal on the 11m mark.
However, in the remaining time of the first half, Vietnam team still could not get more goals into the opponent’s net. Not only that, the team also suffered a loss of force when midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc had to leave the field by stretcher at the 2nd minute of extra time, after a dangerous ball with Huang Yang’s shoe on the Hong Kong side (China).
Like the first half, in the second half the home players were still the ones with better ball control, but still had difficulty finding the way to the opponent’s goal. The match thus ended without any further goals being scored.
At the end of the match against Hong Kong (China), Vietnam team will stay in Hai Phong for two days to prepare forces for the second friendly match against Syria on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
