The FIFA Days international friendly match between China and Vietnam will have VAR applied
According to information from the Chinese Football Federation (CFA), the Video Assistant Referee will be applied at the FIFA Days friendly match between the China team and the Vietnam team.
That was also the decision made at the pre-match coordination meeting that took place earlier this afternoon. In addition to applying VAR technology, the match organizers also created conditions for the two teams to test personnel by agreeing to give each team the right to replace up to 6 players in a total of 3 substitutions (excluding substitutions at halftime). Other activities related to the match comply with FIFA rules.
As the home team, China chose to play in red-red-red jersey. This means that the Vietnam team will play in white – white – white.
This is a “Tier 1” international friendly match, so the results will be scored on the FIFA rankings. Currently the China team is ranked 80th in the world and the Vietnam team is ranked 95th in the world. Because we are in a lower rank than their opponents, according to FIFA’s scoring formula, if we win, the Vietnam team will receive an additional 5.52 points.
The match between the China team and the Vietnam team will take place at 6:35 p.m. on October 10 (Vietnam time) at Dalian Sports Center Stadium, China. In Vietnam, the match will be broadcast live on VTV5, FPT Play, VFF Channel YouTube channel and AVG, SCTV, MyTV, K+, Viettel platforms.
In the history of team-level confrontations since 1997, the China team has won 7 matches out of 8 matches played with the Vietnam team. Their only loss is also the most recent match between the two teams, a match at My Dinh National Stadium on February 1, 2022 (on the first day of the Lunar New Year) within the framework of the third qualifying round of FIFA World Cup 2022.
