The Vietnam women’s team is aiming for a new mission in the Olympics Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 2
The training session took place in an exciting atmosphere with the return of defender Nguyen Thi My Anh and young striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen, along with two new members of the coaching staff, assistants Luu Ngoc Mai and Van Thi Thanh.
Sharing about the upcoming plans, head coach Mai Duc Chung said: “Here, we will participate in the second qualifying round of the Olympics Football Tournament Paris 2024 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 with opponents Japan, India and Uzbekistan. These are strong opponents. Over the past year, the women’s team has focused on competing in many tournaments, consuming a lot of energy. Therefore, the coaching staff met again and decided to call some new faces, including Ngoc Minh Chuyen (Thai Nguyen Club). This player played quite well when playing for the Vietnam U20 women’s team. In the coming time, I will also continue to call other faces, help make new changes in the way of fighting, and create an environment to train young athletes.”
“At this gathering, the coaching staff also has the presence of two new faces. We always want there to be innovations in the coaching staff. Van Thi Thanh and Luu Ngoc Mai are former players who have contributed to Vietnamese football and have coaching degrees. We want to train these factors. Assistant Doan Thi Kim Chi has had many years with the team and next November the national clubs will play the national league, so Kim Chi returned to the club to focus on preparations. Because HCMC team is in the stage of needing Kim Chi to return to strengthen,” head coach Mai Duc Chung said about the changes in this gathering.
The Vietnamese women’s team will have two weeks of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) before leaving for Uzbekistan on October 23. In the case of striker Huynh Nhu, currently, VFF is working and completing the necessary procedures so that this player can return to focus and compete with the Vietnam women’s team in the upcoming qualifying round.
