VFF condolences for the passing of German football legend Franz Beckenbauer
Upon hearing that Germany football legend Franz Beckenbauer, one of three World Cup champions as a player and coach, had just passed away at the age of 78, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan, representing the Vietnam Football Federation, sent a letter of condolences to his family and the German Football Association (DFB).
In a letter of condolence, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his sadness at the passing of football legend Franz Beckenbauer, one of the greatest football players of all time, who was also known by the nickname “Der Kaiser” has passed away.
“Franz Beckenbauer has departed for eternity, leaving great sadness in the heart of German people as well as the world football community. On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the DFB and the whole country for this tremendous loss.
Franz Beckenbauer is one-of-a-kind player as his visionary style reshaped football in his era. He is one of just three men in history to have won the World Cup as both a player and a manager, after leading the West Germany team to glory in 1974 and repeating the feat as a coach in 1990 World Cup. He is a global icon, who is not only an outstanding player and coach, but also a great advisor and influential figure, with countless personal accomplishments and contribution to society. He shared his knowledge and spread the football passion to everyone all over the world. Franz Beckenbauer has left us, but his legacy will always remains an important part in the game of football”.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino also shared his condolences: “A great neighbour to me during many UEFA Executive Committee meetings, he willingly shared so much of his knowledge of football. A really great person, a friend of football, a champion and a true legend, dear Franz will never be forgotten”.
Franz Beckenbauer is widely recognized as one of the greatest players ever in world football.
