Opening of mid-season assessor and referee training course for the 2023/24 National Professional Football tournament in the Northern region
On the afternoon of April 15, at the headquarters of VFF, the opening ceremony of the assessor and referee training course took place in the middle of the 2023/24 national professional football season organized by VFF in collaboration with VPF company.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Ngoc – General Director of VPF Company said: “From the perspective of being the unit assigned by VFF to manage and organize tournaments, VPF Company has been fully prepared logistics and expertise to meet the requirements of the training course. Hopefully, in this training course, the Arbitration Committee, along with the instructors, referee assessors, and referees, will save time and learn from mistakes in phase 1; We ask the instructor to give requirements to the referee assessors and referees on how to run the tournaments well this year”.
On behalf of the Leader of the Vietnam Football Federation, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – VFF’s General Secretary, and chairman of the training course organizers, hopes to continue the success of the referee and referee assessors training course in the middle of the 2023/24 national professional football season. Southern region (100% of assessors and referees meet requirements), assessors and referees in the Northern region will complete their tasks well.
Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi also emphasized that in phase 1, the assessors and referees have completed the task of managing the matches well, especially the young referees who have shown high expertise. However, to avoid “relying” on VAR technology, young referees need to be more proactive in making decisions in each situation.
Training in the middle of the 2023/24 national professional season is a planned activity to gain experience in officiating work, and at the same time foster the knowledge of referee assessors and referees through the first leg, preparing for the second leg of the National Professional Football Championship in the 2023/24 season. This activity also aims to foster professional knowledge for the Assessor and Referee team before participating in duties in the next rounds of professional tournaments.
Mid-season referee and referee assessor training course for the 2023/24 National Professional Football Championship in the Northern region takes place from April 15 to April 17 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (Hanoi). The referee assessor and referees will attend a physical fitness test at the athletics field at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center on the same afternoon of April 15.
