International Women’s Futsal Friendly Tournament, Vietnam vs. China: 4-2
In the opening match of the international friendly tournament currently taking place in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, China, the Vietnam women’s Futsal team secured a 4-2 victory against the host team China.
Taking to the field with a lineup rich in experience, including goalkeeper Ngo Nguyen Thuy Linh, captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang, along with players Tran Nguyet Vi, Le Thi Thanh Ngan, and Bui Thi Trang, the Vietnam women’s Futsal team swiftly deployed a cohesive and tight-knit formation from the outset. After missing several chances, in the 7th minute, Bui Thi Trang scored a rebound shot that forced the home team’s goalkeeper to pick the ball out of the net. Surprised by falling behind, the Chinese women’s Futsal players attempted to exert pressure in the closing minutes of the first half but couldn’t break through Vietnam’s solid defense.
At the beginning of the second half, under the leadership of Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Vietnam’s squad further extended their lead with a beautifully executed long-range shot by Thanh Ngan, doubling their advantage. However, the home team’s players rallied once more, hoping to equalize, and managed to pull one back to make it 1-2 after a set-piece goal in the 24th minute.
The equalizer boosted the home team’s spirits, exerting significant pressure towards Vietnam’s goal. Yet, in a challenging moment, Thanh Hang shone with a goal, increasing the score to 3-1 in the 28th minute. The match continued with back-and-forth play, seeing two goals from the home team, including an own goal. Ultimately, the Vietnam women’s Futsal team emerged victorious with a final score of 4-2.
Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang evaluated the match result, stating, “The home team China is a strong side, but the spirit of the Vietnamese players was excellent as the entire team adhered to the tactics and style set by the coaching staff. The opening match presented many challenges, but the players fought hard and secured the victory.”
Tomorrow (July 13), the Vietnam women’s Futsal team will play their second match against the Iran women’s Futsal team. In their first match, Iran suffered a 5-7 defeat against Uzbekistan.
