2024 VFF Annual Congress for the 9th Term (2022-2026): Approval of Key Plans for 2025
On the morning of November 22, 2024, the 2024 Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Annual Congress for the 9th Term (2022-2026) took place at the VFF Conference Hall. The congress aimed to evaluate the results of activities in 2024 and determine the direction and key tasks for the year 2025.
The congress approved the report on the verification of the delegates’ eligibility to attend the congress. It also voted to suspend the membership status of the following member organizations: Tay Ninh Football Federation, Binh Thuan Football Club, Quang Nam Futsal Club, and Vietfootball Futsal Club.
The congress unanimously approved the list of the Presidium and the Congress Secretariat, the program for the 9th VFF Annual Congress for the 2022-2026 term, and the regulations for organizing the congress as per the requirements.
In his opening speech at the congress, Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – VFF President emphasized that the VFF Annual Congress is a significant event aimed at reviewing and evaluating the tasks carried out in 2024, as well as approving the key plans and tasks for 2025. He expressed the determination to effectively implement the goals of Vietnamese football, in line with the spirit of the VFF 9th Congress (2022-2026) with the slogan: “Building a sustainable football foundation.”
In line with the resolution of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) 9th Congress for the 2022-2026 term, during the 2024 activity year, the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, member organizations, and affiliated units of the VFF have consistently upheld the spirit of unity, responsibility, and overcoming challenges. They have led and directed the implementation of football development activities, focusing on achieving the following six main objectives.
In 2024, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) actively implemented its tasks effectively according to the plan and in line with the objectives for each specific phase. However, there are still issues that need to be analyzed and lessons learned. Therefore, the congress focused on proposing solutions and setting directions and objectives for the development of Vietnamese football in 2025 and the following phases, striving to successfully achieve the resolutions of the 9th Congress for the 2022-2026 term.
In her speech at the congress, Ms. Lê Thị Hoàng Yến – Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, praised the workload that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) had accomplished during the 11 months of 2024. She affirmed that the Department would always support the VFF in building a sustainable football foundation.
The congress voted to approve the following contents: the report on the 2024 year-end review and the plan for implementing tasks in 2025 for the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); the self-evaluation report of the VFF Executive Committee; the report evaluating the professional work of the national football teams in 2024 and outlining key objectives and tasks for 2025; the report on the organization of the 2023/24 and 2024/25 National Professional Football Leagues and the proposed plan for 2025/26.
At the congress, goalkeeper Khổng Thị Hằng of the Vietnam Women’s National Football Team was honored with the Third-Class Labor Medal for her efforts and contributions to the development of women’s football in Vietnam. Khổng Thị Hằng has achieved outstanding performance, contributing to the Vietnam Women’s National Team’s success in winning gold medals at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines (2019), the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam (2022), and the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia (2023).
