The Vietnam women’s national football team offers incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings
On June 21, the Vietnam women’s national football team offered incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site. The ceremony was also attended by representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
At Kinh Thien Palace on the summit of Nghia Linh Mountain, delegates, together with the coaching staff and players of the Vietnam women’s national football team, solemnly offered incense, flowers, and ceremonial offerings in remembrance of the Hung Kings—who laid the foundations of the nation—and to report on the team’s achievements in recent years. These accomplishments include qualifying for the final round of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, winning the SEA Games title eight times, and claiming the ASEAN Championship title three times.
In front of the sacred spirits of the Hung Kings, head coach Mai Đức Chung and his players pledged to stay united, train diligently, and give their best efforts for the pride of the nation in three major tournaments in 2025: the qualifiers for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, the AFF Women’s Championship 2025, and the 33rd SEA Games—contributing to the continued development of Vietnamese sports.
The team is especially focused on achieving success in Group E of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, which will take place at Viet Tri Stadium from June 29 to July 5, aiming to deliver high-quality, exciting matches for home fans.
