Earlier, Malaysia U19 futsal had made a strong impression by only losing to Thailand U19 futsal in a six-metre penalty shootout after a thrilling 4–4 draw in the semi-finals, showing that they were not an easy opponent to overcome. Nevertheless, Vietnam U19 futsal took the initiative from the outset and quickly gained the advantage. In the 5th minute, Hoàng Long fired a precise diagonal shot to open the scoring for his team. After taking the lead, Vietnam U19 futsal controlled the game and created several more chances, but were unable to extend their advantage. In the second half, Lê Bộ found the back of the net, but his effort was ruled out by the referee.
The closing stages were filled with drama as Malaysia U19 futsal employed the power-play tactic to increase pressure. Their efforts paid off with an equaliser to make it 1–1, as Bin Radzi finished from close range when Quang Huy failed to clear the ball. With just 15 seconds remaining, Vietnam U19 futsal executed a well-rehearsed corner-kick routine, allowing Thạch Hiếu to unleash a superb long-range strike to restore the 2–1 lead, seemingly sealing the victory.
However, at the decisive moment, with only six seconds left on the clock, Malaysia U19 futsal pushed forward once more and found the equaliser through Haykal to make it 2–2. The two teams were then forced into a six-metre penalty shootout to determine the outcome. From the spot, Malaysia U19 futsal prevailed 4–3 to claim the bronze medal, while Vietnam U19 futsal concluded the tournament in a heartbreaking fourth place.
