Ho Chi Minh City claim the runners-up spot at the 2025 National Women’s Futsal Championship
On the evening of January 8, the final round of the 2025 National Women’s Futsal Championship took place at Chanh Hung Ward Indoor Arena (Ho Chi Minh City). Despite having secured the title one round early, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City FC still concluded the season with an exciting performance, while Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC finished as the overall runners-up.
In the first match of the day, Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC faced Phong Phu Ha Nam. The two sides were locked in a tight contest in the first half, with no goals scored. In the second half, the Ho Chi Minh City side put on a dominant display to secure a 5–2 victory.
Thuy Trang shone with a brace, including a spectacular long-range strike from her own half during a swift counter-attack, playing a key role in helping the team finish as runners-up.
The closing match of the tournament between Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi was filled with drama. Hanoi repeatedly took the lead, but the defending champions stayed persistent and pulled level at 3–3 in the closing minutes. However, with just four seconds remaining, Bien Thi Hang struck a free kick from the halfway line straight into the net, sealing a thrilling 4–3 victory for Hanoi.
Nevertheless, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City successfully defended their title with 15 points, maintaining an unbeaten record throughout the season. Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC finished second with 10 points, followed by Hanoi and Phong Phu Ha Nam.
