VFF’s President Tran Quoc Tuan met with and encouraged the Vietnam U23 national team ahead of their final group-stage match
Ahead of the final group-stage match against Saudi Arabia U23 at the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan met with, encouraged, and reminded the members of the Vietnam U23 national team of the importance of maintaining fighting spirit, responsibility, and the necessary focus at this decisive stage.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan stressed that the road ahead requires the entire team to maintain the highest level of focus and absolutely avoid complacency, even though they currently hold a significant advantage after two consecutive victories. He recalled lessons from previous tournaments, including the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2023, where despite a similarly strong start with two wins, the team still failed to advance. This, he emphasized, serves as a clear reminder that results are only decided when the final whistle blows.
According to President Tran Quoc Tuan, the most important task at this moment is for each member of the team to draw on the experience and composure accumulated through years of competition and international exposure. The VFF has created optimal conditions for the players to train and compete against strong opponents, helping them build a solid mindset when stepping onto the continental stage.
He further underlined that the players are all experienced and have been tested in many major matches. What matters now is that each individual clearly understands their responsibility, works closely with the coaching staff to organize the match effectively, and maintains calmness, composure, and concentration. “When we are in a good state, the opponents will face greater pressure. If we are well organized and execute the plan properly, we will achieve the desired effectiveness,” President Tran Quoc Tuan encouraged the team.
The head of the VFF also affirmed that the initiative lies in the hands of Vietnam U23. The choice of approach to the match and the path forward are decisions the team is fully capable of making through their preparation, spirit, and ambition.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee, President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his confidence in the unity, determination, and desire to give their all shown by the players.
