Draw and Fixture Scheduling for the 2026/27 National Professional Football Competitions

The 2026/27 National Professional Football season will feature a dedicated brand identity for each competition. The season is scheduled to kick off on 30 August 2026 with the 2025/26 National Super Cup and conclude on 30 May 2027 with the second leg of the 2026/27 National Cup final.

LPBank V.League 1-2026/27

The LPBank V.League 1-2026/27 will feature 14 top-flight clubs and run from 4 September 2026 to 22 May 2027.

The total prize pool for the top three teams is VND 9.5 billion:

• Champions: Trophy, Gold Medals and VND 5 billion
• Runners-up: Silver Medals and VND 3 billion
• Third place: Bronze Medals and VND 1.5 billion

At the end of the season, the bottom two teams will be relegated to the National First Division for the following season.

For the 2026/27 season, each V.League 1 club may register up to four foreign players and field a maximum of four foreign players at any given time during a match, an increase of one foreign player compared with the previous season. Clubs representing Vietnam in AFF and AFC club competitions may register up to seven foreign players in their competition squad, but may still field a maximum of four at a time.

V.League 2-2026/27

The V.League 2-2026/27 will feature 14 clubs and run from 11 September 2026 to 16 May 2027.

The top three teams will receive:

• Champions: Trophy, Gold Medals and VND 2 billion
• Runners-up: Silver Medals and VND 1 billion
• Third place: Bronze Medals and VND 500 million

At the end of the season, the top two teams will earn direct promotion to V.League 1 for the 2027/28 season, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the National Second Division.

The foreign-player regulations remain unchanged from last season. Each club may register a maximum of one foreign player, as well as one overseas Vietnamese player and two players of Vietnamese origin with foreign nationality.

Both LPBank V.League 1-2026/27 and V.League 2-2026/27 will use a double round-robin format, with each club playing home and away. Each competition will consist of 26 rounds and 182 matches.

National Cup 2026/27

The 2026/27 National Cup will feature 27 clubs from V.League 1 and V.League 2, with Hanoi FC Youth not registering for the competition in accordance with regulations.

The qualifying round, Round of 16 and quarter-finals will be played as single-leg knockout ties. The semi-finals and final will be contested over two legs.

The competition will consist of 29 matches, scheduled to begin on 18 September 2026 and conclude on 30 May 2027. The National Cup winners will receive the trophy, Gold Medals and VND 2 billion.

Registration and transfer windows

• First registration period: 1 August – 30 September 2026
  • LPBank V.League 1-2026/27 squad registration deadline: 17:00, 13 August 2026
  • V.League 2-2026/27 squad registration deadline: 17:00, 20 August 2026
  • National Cup 2026/27 squad registration deadline: 17:00, 27 August 2026
• Second registration period: 25 January – 15 March 2027

Alongside the refreshed brand identities, the 2026/27 National Professional Football season will continue to receive significant investment in technology, organisational standards and playing conditions, with the aim of improving sporting quality and enhancing the fan experience.

VAR technology will continue to be widely deployed to support referees in making accurate decisions, enhancing fairness and the overall quality of matches. With five FIFA-standard VAR vehicles, VPF will continue to maximise the number of matches covered by VAR throughout the season.

At the same time, broadcast quality will continue to be enhanced by VPF and strategic partner FPT Play, following a modern and professional approach to deliver an improved viewing experience. Matches will continue to be broadcast across multiple platforms, including terrestrial television, cable, satellite, IPTV, the Internet, mobile devices and social media platforms, making it easier for fans to follow and support the competitions.

The Terra UVI 2.07 FIFA Quality Pro ball will continue as the official match ball for the 2026/27 National Professional Football season.

For the 2026/27 season, the official match ball will once again be the Terra – Đất Mẹ UVI 2.07, produced by Động Lực Joint Stock Company and certified to the FIFA Quality Pro standard. Introduced in the 2024/25 season, the ball has established its quality and contributed to delivering exciting matches and memorable moments.
