Former stars from the world-acclaimed Manchester United and Liverpool teams will play Vietnamese football veterans in a friendly tournament on November 19 and 20. 

 

 

 

Scheduled to take place at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium, the Masters Vietnam 2009 will be a rare chance for local soccer fans to meet well-known players such as Andy Cole, Andrei Kanchelskis, Vivian Anderson, Mark Walters, Dominic Matteo and John Barners.

 

Two referees from the British Premier League, Dermott Gallagher and JohnUnderhill will also officiate at the matches, the Vietnam Football Federation and the DC Communications Joint Stock Company reported on October 19.

 

Beginning its first match in 1998, the Masters friendly football tournament has enjoyed success throughout the world, bringing together former players of major clubs from the Premier League.

 

Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand were the first countries in Asia to host the Masters tourney.
