Binh Dinh and An Giang go through

PISICO Binh Dinh and An Giang reached the semi-finals of the under-21 football tournament, sponsored by Thanh Nien newspaper.

An Giang beat Phu My Nam Dinh 1-0 while PISICO Binh Dinh trounced defending champions Tien Giang 4-1 in a later match on October 15.  

An Giang will play PVFC Song Lam Nghe An in the first semi-final on October 18 while PISICO Binh Dinh will clash hosts Khatoco Khanh Hoa one day later.

In the first match An Giang shocked Phu My Nam Dinh with a winner by Duc Trung four minutes after the hour mark.

Phu My Nam Dinh looked out of sorts while An Giang were the better side in the first half. However, they remained on level term before the break.

An Giang continued their attacking game after the interval and opened the scoring on 64 minutes with Duc Trung beating Phu My Nam Dinh’s goalie Thanh Trung from close range. 

In another match, PISICO Binh Dinh outclassed defending champions Tien Giang, who had been eliminated from tournament after two consecutive defeats.

PISICO Binh Dinh went in front after five minutes with Thanh Sang’s goal. Ten minutes later, Thanh Sang scored his second goal, helping PISICO Binh Dinh double their advantage.

Tien Giang pulled back a goal with Quoc Anh making no mistake with his spot kick three minutes later.

Thanh Sang completed his hat-trick after 25 minutes and Quoc Thinh sealed a 4-1 victory minutes later.
