AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers – Group E: Vietnam 4-0 Guam

Vietnam secured a 10th consecutive appearance at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ with a 4-0 win over Guam in their Qualifiers Group E tie on Saturday. The win confirmed Vietnam the top spot with a maximum nine points with Guam – who needed victory to advance to the Finals for the first – on four.

Vietnam took the lead as early as the first minute after Huynh Nhu’s cross slipped past Isabella Hara and onto the path of Nguyen Thi Van for an easy tap-in.
Pegged in their own half, an error in the 13th minute saw Nguyen Thị Bich Thuy pouncing on a poor pass by Ariya Cruz inside the box to fire home Vietnam’s second.
Nhu was in the thick of the action again 12 minutes later when she wriggled past Kaia Villanueva before unleashing a shot which deflected into the path of Bich Thuy to volley past Hara.
Guam kept a tight defensive line in the second half but there was no denying Vietnam as they furthered their advantage in the 73rd minute through Pham Hai Yen’s header to seal the win.
