Announcing ceremony of Futsal HDBank national championship and national cup 2022

This year’s 2022 HDBank National Championship has 11 teams registered to participate. The organizers continue to apply the competition method divided into two phases to further increase the competition, attractiveness, and ensure the quality of the matches; Teams can register up to 25 players.

Phase I (Qualifiers) will take place from June 1 to July 4 in Lam Dong province, including 5 teams: Cao Bang, Hung Gia Khang, Dak Lak, Quang Nam, Tan Hiep Hung, and Vietfootball. Teams will compete in a round-robin to calculate points, rank, choose the 4 highest ranked teams to participate in Phase II of the tournament.

Phase II consists of 10 teams, including 6 teams with rankings from 1 to 6 at the 2021 HDBank Futsal National Championship: Thai Son Nam, Sahako, Zetbit Saigon FC, Thai Son Bac, Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa, Hieu Hoa Da Nang, and 4 teams qualified from Phase I. Teams will play two round-robin (first leg – second leg) to calculate points and final ranking. The first leg of Phase II is scheduled to take place from June 13, 2022 to July 4, 2022 in Lam Dong, and the second leg of Phase II is expected to be held from November 5 to November 26, 2022 in Can Tho.

The 2022 HDBank Futsal Championship Team will receive a Gold Medal, a prize of 500 million VND and represent Vietnam to attend the AFC Futsal Clubs Championship; The second-placed team receiving 200 million VND will participate in the AFF Futsal Clubs Championship.

Meanwhile, the Futsal HDBank National Cup 2022 is expected from December 1 to December 16, 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the 2022 season, HDBank National Championship Futsal Championship and National Cup will continue having the companionship of HDBank and this is the 6th consecutive time HDBank has accompanied the tournament. The new feature of this year’s Futsal tournaments is that all matches will be live exclusively on the VOVlive digital content system of VOV.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Minh Hung, Deputy General Director of VOV, Chairman of Futsal 2022 Steering Committee, said that the 2022 season takes place in a very special occasion when the 31st SEA Games has just been a great success, create momentum to organize the next sports tournament. This is the 6th time, VOV, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and HDBank and it can be said that the organization of national and international tournaments has become more and more complete and professional, the more people support; Vietnamese futsal also has achievements when had attended the World Cup twice…

Mr. Tran Minh Hung affirmed that VOV with 8 national radio channels, 16 television channels, 2 online newspapers, a printed newspaper…will join with other media agencies for Vietnam’s Futsal. VOV will provide maximum support and create the best conditions for other press agencies to work, how to make the tournament more and more spread, attract spectators and bring Vietnam futsal to develop.

“Recently, the SEA Games, we could see a very well organized, and the atmosphere was very good. And that is what we hope, that the media continue to accompany and consider that we are all in the same boat for the purpose of Futsal Vietnam, the spirit is that we will Let’s continue to work together so that we can develop more Futsal in Vietnam,” said Mr. Tran Minh Hung.

Also at the press conference, answering reporters’ questions, Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Chairman of the Futsal Committee, Standing member of VFF Executive Committee, said that it is expected that next year, foreign players may be allowed to compete, there can be one player per team at first. Currently, the source of players in Vietnam, especially young players, is quite limited, only relying on a few clubs such as Thai Son Nam, Thai Son Bac, Ho Chi Minh City…and the ability to meet the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) also only has about 2 teams, Thai Son Nam and Sahako… Therefore, currently, the ability to play away, home or allow foreign players to play is only a clubs can meet.

Mr. Tran Anh Tu said: “If playing to extend the home or away season or add foreign players, some clubs will have financial difficulties. But if you don’t do it, you won’t know when to raise the level of the team. I hired a foreign coach, did everything to make the national team stronger, but the most important thing is that the players have to play with good opponents, then we can upgrade the quality of the season.”

In addition, Mr. Tran Anh Tu said, to raise the level of futsal in Vietnam, by August 2022, the Vietnamese futsal team will have a new Argentine coach; The request of this coach is quite high and currently, the Vietnamese side has also sent some pictures and videos of potential players for appraisal and preparation.

The 2022 Futsal season will begin with the first qualifying match on June 1, 2022 at the Training and Sports Center of Lam Dong province.
