Anpha Petrol sponsors First Division tournament

The First Division will start a new season with Anpha Petrol as the new official sponsor. However, the contract will last for only one year.

Under the contract signed at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation on January 2, in the 2008 season, Division 1 will take place under the name of Anpha Petrol. After that, the Vietnam Football Federation and Anpha SG Petrol Joint Stock Company will discuss the possibility of extending the contract.

Anpha Petrol Division 1 in 2008 will attract the participation  of 14 clubs including An Giang, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Huda Hue, Military Zone 4, Military Zone 5, Military Zone 7, T&T Hanoi, Tay Ninh, Quang Ninh Coal, Tien Giang, Quang Ngai and Ninh Binh Vinakansai Cement. 

This season will be based on a traditional league format with two promotion places and one play-off position available to the V-League. The first round is expected to start on January 5.

Prizes for the 2008 season are similar to 2007 in which the champion will pocket VND 200 million, the first runner-up, VND 100 million, and the second runner-up will get VND 50 million.
