Women’s team beat Ha Tay 2-1 in friendly

Two goals by Nguyen Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Thi Huong helped the Vietnam national women’s team win 2-1 over Ha Tay in a friendly on October 16. 

A midfielder also called Nguyen Thi Huong scored a goal for Ha Tay.

It was the first friendly for the women’s team after their training session in Tam Dao.

Coach Chen Yun Fat lined up his favourite 3-5-2 formation as the national team were the better side. Ngoc Anh opened the scoring after 20 minutes from the spot after goalie Thu Trang fouled national team a player in the box.

The score was levelled 16 minutes later as Nguyen Thi Huong’s long shot gave goalkeeper Kieu Trinh no chance.

Nguyen Thi Huong from the national team sealed a 2-1 victory, by curling the ball into the net from a freekick on 72 minutes.

The women’s team will have two more friendlies before moving to Quang Ninh to compete at the Vietnam Coal Minerals tournament, also featuring Laos, Chinese Taipei, and Shanghai Shandong.
