Vision eyes Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh
Buoyed by the success of Vision Vietnam in the Long An Province, AFC is laying the groundwork to introduce its pioneering development project in the capital city of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, which is an important football hub in the South of the country.
An AFC Vision Asia team will visit these two cities from July 8 to 13 to assess the status of football for before drafting a plan for overall development of the game.
For this purpose, the team will put under the scanner several key areas – football administration and management, clubs and competitions, grassroots and youth, coach education and referees development.
Since its launch in Long An in 2005, Vision Vietnam has been gathering in strength, with the provincial league completing its second season this year besides the schools’ league kickoff earlier this year.
During their visit, the AFC team will meet and discuss development issues with top officials of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), and the Football Associations from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
Meanwhile, the VFF has appointed Tran Thi Lan Huong as its coordinator for Vision Vietnam to ensure timely implementation of the projects.
