COVID-19: AFF to reschedule competitions this year

PETALING JAYA (25 March 2020) – The Asean Football Federation (AFF) has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and has decided to reschedule several competitions slated for the next four months.

AFC adjusts the schedule of HCM City Club and Lao Toyota at AFC Cup 2020

According to the previous fixture, the first leg of the HCM City Club and Lao Toyota (Laos) will be held on 10th Mar at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCM City). However, this match will move to Laos’ stadium and the second leg will be held at Thong Nhat Stadium on 15th Apr.

On the morning of 1st Mar, the training class for Match Commissioner, Referee Assessors, and Referees of the national non-professional football tournaments 2020 closed at the office of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

According to the confirmation of VFF, the organizer of Maurice Toulon Revello 2020 had the official notification about the joining of U21 Vietnam.

Referee physical test for the non-professional tournaments 2020: Only 1 assistant did not meet the requirement.

On the morning of 27th Feb, there were 39 referees and referee assistants of the non-professional tournament 2020 do the physical test. Finally, there was only 1 referee assistant who couldn’t pass the exam.

On the afternoon of 26th Feb, the training class for Match Commissioner and Referees of the national non-professional football tournaments 2020 opened at the office of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan: the plan of the national teams in 2020 will be adjusted to be more suitable and proactive.

Due to the effect of Covid-19, many plans of Vietnamese Football have to postponed or adjusted. However, VFF Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that VFF will make suitable plans to ensure the training program of the teams.

On the afternoon of 13th Feb, as the invitation of Qatar Football Association (QFA), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) had a meeting with QFA Vice President Al-Mohanndi.

VFF and VOV continue to co-opera to organize the futsal tournaments in 2020 – 2022

Due to the results in 3 years from 2017 to 2019, on 10th Feb, the closing ceremony of the National Futsal tournaments and signing ceremony for the period 2020 – 2022 between VFF and VOV were held at the office of VFF.
