Champion League 2006: Choi unconcerned with goal-difference

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors kept their challenge for a place in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League on track despite a narrow 1-0 win over Da Nang on Wednesday. A 21st-minute header from Ze Carlo gave the Koreans victory and coach Choi Kang-hee was satisfied with the result.

Before coming to here, I thought we should join Gamba in the hunt for goals against Da Nang. However, looking at my team”s match schedule the next two weeks, I changed my mind at the last minute. That was why I just took 14 players, most of which were youngsters, to Vietnam. Playing against Da Nang is the best chance for my young players to gain match experience.

We have nothing to worry about ahead of our next match in Japan. If we beat Gamba, goal difference will no longer be a burden for us. I think we can overcome Gamba because we defeated them 3-2 in the first leg at home.
