Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc placed a phone call to the Việt Nam U23 football team to congratulate them on their historic win, sending them into the final round of the Asian Football Cup for the first time.
PM Phúc called the general secretary of the Việt Nam Football League Lê Hoài Anh, who is presently in China, to commend the competitive spirit of the young Vietnamese football players.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the victory was a significant and meaningful event that would certainly go into Việt Nam’s football history, bringing great pride to domestic fans.
He ordered the minister of culture and sports ministry to award the Korean coach Park Hang Seo and Việt Nam’s U23 players “with timely and worthy” commendations.
