AFC appointed Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan as the Head of Delegation at AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024
Tonight (April 15), the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 will open at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium – Qatar. This is also where the final match of this competition will take place, on the evening of May 3, 2024.

The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 have 16 teams competing and matches take place at 4 stadiums: Khalifa International Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. The top three teams will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with the fourth-placed side to face Guinea in a playoff on May 9 for a possible fourth Asian side advancing to the Games.
At this event, the U23 Vietnam is in Group D with opponents: U23 Kuwait, U23 Malaysia and U23 Uzbekistan. The U23 Vietnam has been here since April 8, 2024 to prepare and have a practice match with U23 Jordan. From April 13, the team officially entered the tournament schedule.
Regarding the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024, AFC has appointed Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President of Vietnam Football Federation, as Head of the AFC delegation at this event.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF’s President is currently Chairman of the AFC Competition Committee for the 2023-2027 term; Member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term; Chairman of the AFF Competition Committee for the 2022-2026 term and Member of the AFF Finance Committee.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan was once appointed by AFC as Head of Football Operations at ASIAD Incheon 2014 and ASIAD Hangzhou 2023, a member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Cup 2024 in Qatar. With prestige and experience in running important Asian tournaments, once again, the head of VFF was trusted by AFC to take on a big responsibility at the U.23 Asian Cup 2024 . This also confirms the VFF as well as Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan has created a position in AFC’s important activities.
