Closing ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘B’ Certificate Coaching Course – Module 2
On the afternoon of Oct 19, the closing ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘B’ Certificate Coaching Course – Module 2 took place at the headquater of VFF.

Attending the closing ceremony were Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF’s President; Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – VFF General Secretary; Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – VFF Deputy General Secretary; Mr. Koshida Takeshi – VFF Technical Director, course instructor; Mr. Akira Ijiri – Head coach of VFF young women’s teams.
Sharing at the closing ceremony, President of Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that coaching training will create a foundation for developing youth football, contributing to helping Vietnamese football raise the World Cup dream.
“On behalf of VFF, I would like to congratulate the students who have completed 2 semesters of the B degree course organized by VFF. I am waiting for AFC to soon recognize the certificate and announce good news about the results achieved in this course to contribute to the development of local football in particular and Vietnamese football in general.
Football is a process, you need to focus on nurturing your roots. You can win or lose, but to have lasting success, you must have sustainable steps. We study many football backgrounds, including seriously researching and learning Japanese football. Over the past 5 years, we have achieved, but to be sustainable and stable, Vietnamese football needs you a lot. VFF prioritizes investing in many courses, programs, seminars, and training to improve and update knowledge that has been deployed in recent times, but the most important factor is still the human resource. Must continuously update, check and monitor the training process to have good personnel.
Vietnamese youth teams are trained continuously and in-depth, from U16, U19, U22, always ensuring their presence on the Asian playground from 2015 to present. If we want the Vietnamese team to participate in the World Cup, we must have a strong youth team. Vietnamese football has the most youth teams in the Asian finals in Southeast Asia (U23, U20, U17 men, U17 women), which is a great effort for the players to approach high levels and meet strong teams on the continent from the youth level, thereby accumulating useful experience”, Dr. Tran Quoc Tuan shared.
Also sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Koshida Takeshi – VFF’s Technical director, course instructor said: “During the mid-term break, I asked the trainees to do homework. The trainees worked hard, so in the second session held in Hanoi, we finished the course successfully. Trainees may have lost confidence at first, but then gradually improved. This is purely the beginning, not the end. To develop Vietnamese football, we need the cooperation of the trainees here.”
Mr. Akira Ijiri – Head Coach of the VFF’s young women’s teams also commented: “The trainees worked hard and did well. I have been in Vietnam for 5 years, the third year participating in training courses. I am happy that Vietnamese football believes in Japanese football. I hope in the future there will be people who will become instructor of a course like this. There are many things worth learning in football, and we must learn them well so we can develop football.”
Class monitor Le Quoc Vuong shared: “Before starting, I and many classmates here were still confused, but after completing the course, I am confident that I can plan training lessons for a youth team for one year. That’s something valuable I learned. Coach Akira and instructor Koshida are also very humane and dedicated. I hope VFF has more classes so coaches can progress, work and contribute to help Vietnamese football develop more. We will try our best.”
The B/AFC/VFF certified football coach training course, phase 2, takes place from October 9 to October 19 at VFF and the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. After a period of study and practice, 24 coaches completed the course program. The results of the course will be reviewed by AFC and notified to coaches in the near future.
