Mr Nguyen Trong Hy – VFF President: “The 6th Congress is decisive for the Vietnamese Football”

Reporter: Sir, there is only 1 day left, the 6th VFF’s Congress will take place. So what does this event mean for national football?

– President Nguyen Trong Hy: We need to realise that the 6th Congress is a decisive event for national football. This will be the moment, the historical milestone for Vietnamese football to have the first step in a new chapter. In this Congress, VFF will conduct a very important mechanism transfer. From an organisation that has full transition period characteristics of a socio – professional organisation to a new form; at the same time, affirming the full and comprehensive integration with international organisations. In the next term, there is no difference in organisation model, regulations and operation method between VFF and international football organisation. We will have to familiarize ourselves with the new operation method and relationship. In an easy word, VFF will have a new completely charter to adjust the football relationships in the new era. Simultaneously, it will be a good condition for Vietnamese football to integrate comprehensively and operate inline with the international organisations. Hope that with a new mechanism, Vietnamese football will gain lots of important victories and become a real professional football.

– What is your opinion on the preparation for the 6th Congress?

– An important mission of preparation for this Congress is summary, term’s evaluation, setting goals, direction and mission for VFF Term 6. It should be emphasised that these tasks must be done in a scientific manner, reflecting the characteristics of social context. It was the renovative period of Vietnam, constructing the socialist oriented market economy. In the process of integration with international organisations, Vietnamese football still has to comply with social management principles as well as the provisions of Vietnamese laws. 

– In your opinion, what is the most different in the preparation for the 6th VFF’s Congress compared with the previous?

– The preparation process for the 6th Congress has some basic changes compared with the previous. The most significant is the active participation of member organisations in the process of preparing documents and selecting human resources for the Congress. The subcommittees of the Preparatory Committee sent related documents to member organisations and received the positive responses. They evaluated objectively the successes and limitations of football and through that, they expressed their desire to contribute in developing national football. They want a sustainable developed football by directly participating in the process of preparing and building a professional route. Besides showing democracy, the contribution of VFF’s members will gather the wisdom and efforts of society for the general development.

– How about the preparation of human resources for the 6th VFF’s Congress, sir?

– The preparation of human resources for the 6th VFF’s Congress also has the participation of  member organisations. In the spirit of publicity, transparency and democracy, the Preparatory Committee usually informs member organisations about human resource works to collect comments and suggestions. The fact that they had findings, contributions and nominations to the list of candidates for the Executive Committee and the key positions also. Through the recognition of evaluation of member organisations, we will choose the most deserving ones and can implement fully and seriously the Resolutions after this Congress. In this spirit, the preparation of human resources for this Congress has expressed the unity of the whole system, all members have the same voice in the process of football development and have the rights to protect their benefits at the same time. 

With all the preparations, I believe that the 6th VFF’s Congress will succeed gratefully and will open up a bright future for Vietnamese football.
