Information about the 6th VFF Congress: Change to be perfect
Only 24 hours left, the 6th VFF Congress will be held. With what is happening, it can be affirmed that Vietnamese football is aiming to promote democracy. And this is the route to bring Vietnamese football closer to the standards of international football.

Recently in the press, one of the biggest changes, which is mentioned the most, is the principle of voting at the 6th congress. However, if it looks and compares with the big football organisations such as FIFA, AFC, it is merely a reasonable admission.
Particularly, FIFA also applied the same approach in the voting activities at the congresses. Accordingly, FIFA Charters clearly stipulates “FIFA members are the Football Confederations which are recognised for membership”. Article 1.23 also claims: “Each member has one right to vote and is represented by their delegate. Only the delegates who present at Congress have the right to vote. During the term, the Executive Committee members cannot present for their organisations”. Thus, with the spirit of this regulation, the Executive Committee members cannot vote at the Congress. Voters are only people who are recognised by FIFA.

This approach has been applied for a long time and FIFA has repeatedly recommended the Confederation members to amend their charters and approach to align with each other. VFF has been researched and amended in the way suitable with FIFA charters and it is necessary.

In fact, deciding to change the charters, accordingly the VFF members only have the right to vote at congress, it’s not only suitable with the direction of FIFA, but also it expresses the sense of democracy respect. Because it is the first time, the final choice will belong to grassroots level, the departments directly participate in Vietnamese football life.
It is a reasonable way, since the members with their understanding and review will be the people that make the right decisions to find for Vietnamese football the key leaders who have talent and enthusiasm. The empowerment for grassroot level helps them to express their will and aspiration about the approach, operation of Vietnamese football in the new term. Because those, who receive the support of the majority, must have the evaluated talent, the closeness to grassroots football and have enough mind and vision to put their wishes into Vietnamese football practice.
On the other hand, through this approach, the leaders, the elected people have to try their best to complete the missions, in order to continue maintaining credibility from the grassroots level. After all, this is what Vietnamese football expects in its efforts to perfect and professionalise all football participants.
