Ho Chi Minh City won the 2025 National Women’s Football Cup
A thrilling victory over Thai Nguyen T&T helped Ho Chi Minh City secure the championship of the 2025 National Women’s Football Cup.

The final match of the tournament was a showdown between Thai Nguyen T&T and Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Chi Minh City team played more impressively and controlled the game well. However, the absence of overseas Vietnamese players, unlike in the group stage, somewhat affected the attacking quality of Ho Chi Minh City. In the first half, it wasn’t easy for Ho Chi Minh City to break through the well-organized defense of Thai Nguyen T&T. Coach Văn Thị Thanh understood that they couldn’t afford to take risks with an aggressive attack, as it could lead to a counterattack. However, the defensive players of Thai Nguyen T&T could not withstand the pressure from Ho Chi Minh City. In the 37th minute, a Thai Nguyen T&T player handled the ball in the penalty area, and a penalty was awarded to Ho Chi Minh City. There were no surprises as Huỳnh Như successfully converted the penalty, giving Ho Chi Minh City the lead. In the remaining time of the first half, the tea region team made efforts but couldn’t find the equalizer. The two teams went into halftime with Ho Chi Minh City holding the advantage.
In the second half, Thai Nguyen T&T made some adjustments in hopes of finding an equalizer. However, Bích Thùy and her teammates faced many challenges against a more resilient Ho Chi Minh City side. Huỳnh Như and her teammates remained focused, successfully defending their 1-0 lead. As a result, Ho Chi Minh City officially claimed the championship of the 2025 National Women’s Football Cup.
Earlier, a victory over Than Khoáng Sản Việt Nam (Than KSVN) in a penalty shootout helped Phong Phú Hà Nam secure third place in the 2025 National Women’s Football Cup.
