At 9:00 AM local time on June 23 (8:00 PM Vietnam time), the FIFA Executive Football Summit officially kicked off in Miami, USA, with the participation of senior leaders from FIFA member associations around the world. Representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at the Summit were President Trần Quốc Tuấn and General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú.
The FIFA Executive Football Summit is a high-level forum organized periodically by FIFA to promote strategic dialogue and global cooperation in football development. This year’s summit features discussions on key topics such as youth football development, women’s football, enhancing technical capacity, the “Football for Schools” program, the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) initiative, and the plan to expand the FIFA Women’s World Cup to 48 teams starting in 2031.
Speaking at the summit, FIFA President Gianni Infantino reaffirmed FIFA’s strong commitment to supporting its member associations through development programs such as FIFA Forward, aiming to invest in infrastructure, training, and grassroots football development.
Within the framework of the FIFA Football Summit 2025, the delegation of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), led by President Trần Quốc Tuấn, held meetings and discussions with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, senior FIFA officials, and representatives of other member associations. These engagements aimed to strengthen international cooperation and explore opportunities to support the development of Vietnamese football in the coming years.
On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, President Trần Quốc Tuấn expressed his gratitude to FIFA President Gianni Infantino for the practical support that FIFA has provided to Vietnamese football over the years, particularly through development projects under the FIFA Forward program.
On this occasion, President Trần Quốc Tuấn expressed a desire to welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino to visit Vietnam and proposed that Vietnam host important international conferences and seminars organized by FIFA in the near future. This would not only be an opportunity for the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to reaffirm its role as an active and dynamic member of FIFA, but also a chance to promote the image of Vietnam’s people, culture, and nation to the international community.
In response to the invitation from the VFF President, FIFA President Gianni Infantino gladly accepted and affirmed that he would arrange a visit to Vietnam at an appropriate time in the near future.
