Press conference ahead of the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship qualifiers (Group D): Vietnam aims for top spot in the group
In an interview during the press conference before the opening match of Group D at the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship qualifiers, Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng confirmed that the goal of the Vietnam Women’s Futsal team is to secure a spot in the final round.

In response to a question about Vietnam’s preparation for the tournament and the team’s goals, Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng stated: “We have made thorough preparations for this tournament with nearly 6 weeks of training. We have focused on improving our tactics and have studied strategies to face each team in Group D. The goal of the Vietnam Women’s Futsal team is to aim for the top spot in the group.”
At 5:30 PM on January 15, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal team will play their opening match against host country Myanmar. Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng shared: “The Vietnam Women’s Futsal team recently played against Myanmar in the Southeast Asian Championship and we have gathered information about them. We have also developed strategies to counter them. However, the host team Myanmar now has a new, experienced coach, so we need to be more cautious of the changes they may bring. The new head coach of Myanmar’s Women’s Futsal team is the same coach who previously led Myanmar’s Men’s Futsal team and drew 1-1 with Vietnam’s Men’s Futsal team at the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship. Our goal for tomorrow is to win the match.”
