Press conference and draw held for the Finals of the 2026 National U13 Football Championship – Yamaha Cup
On the morning of July 2 in Hai Phong, the Organising Committee of the 2026 National U13 Football Championship – Yamaha Cup held the official press conference and draw ceremony to determine the group-stage composition and match schedule for the Finals, featuring the 16 teams that successfully advanced through the qualifying round.
The 16 teams that successfully progressed from the qualifying round, held between June 2 and June 22, 2026 in Dak Lak, Hai Phong, and Quang Ngai, are: Hanoi FC, Hai Phong (Finals hosts), The Cong Viettel, Cong An Ha Noi, Bac Ninh FC, Song Lam Nghe An, Dong A Thanh Hoa, Gia Lai, T&T Nghe An, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Football Academy, Ho Chi Minh City, Cong An Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Phan Viet Hung, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong Newspaper and Permanent Deputy Head of the Organising Committee; Ms. Pham Thi To Trang, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Dinh Vu Ha Linh, representative of Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd.; as well as the tournament’s partners and sponsors.
The National U13 Football Championship is an annual competition jointly organised by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong Newspaper as part of Vietnam’s national youth football competition system. Now in its 30th edition, the tournament continues to receive strong support from government authorities, football fans, and especially young players across the country, making it one of the highlights of the summer football calendar.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Viet Hung, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong Newspaper, emphasised: “The 2026 National U13 Football Championship – Yamaha Cup is a tournament that football fans and young players eagerly look forward to every summer. It provides a valuable platform for children to play, while also serving as a launching pad for the country’s future football talents. The positive impact and values the tournament brings to the community are truly significant.”
Driven by its commitment to nurturing young football talent under the slogan “Supporting the Stars of Tomorrow,” Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. has been sponsoring the National U13 and U11 Football Championships since 2003. In 2026, Yamaha continues its long-standing partnership as the title sponsor of the 2026 National U13 Football Championship – Yamaha Cup.
Over the years, the tournament has established itself as an important platform for developing Vietnam’s next generation of footballers, producing many outstanding players such as Nguyen Quang Hai, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nham Manh Dung, Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Dinh Bac, and Nguyen Cong Phuong. Yamaha’s enduring commitment to youth football has played a meaningful role in these successes, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of grassroots and youth football in Vietnam.
The group-stage draw produced the following results:
- Group A: Hosts Hai Phong, T&T Nghe An, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Football Academy
- Group B: Hanoi FC, Dong Nai, Dak Lak, Bac Ninh FC
- Group C: The Cong Viettel, Dong A Thanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City
- Group D: Cong An Ha Noi, Song Lam Nghe An, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Cong An Ho Chi Minh City
The Finals will take place from June 30 to July 14, 2026, at Lach Tray Stadium and the Hai Phong FC Training Ground. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Lach Tray Stadium, followed by the opening match between the host team Hai Phong and T&T Nghe An.
