Qualifiers – Group F: Thailand 3-0 Nepal; Vietnam 4-0 Chinese Taipei
Viet Tri City: Thailand and Vietnam were in fine form as they kicked off their respective AFC U17 Asian Cup™ 2023 Qualifiers Group F campaigns with commanding wins on Wednesday.
Thailand defeated Nepal 3-0 while hosts Vietnam beat Chinese Taipei 4-0.

The match started on a cautious note with both sides taking their time to settle.
Thailand slowly began to exert their dominance and took the lead in the 35th minute through forward Tontawan Puntamunee in the 30th minute.
Nepal’s hopes of fighting back were dashed when Tontawan scored his second in the 65th minute with substitute Thanakrit Jampalee capping the win in the 79th minute.
Thailand play Chinese Taipei next on Friday with Nepal to face hosts Vietnam.
Vietnam 4-0 Chinese Taipei
Vietnam pressed from the first blow of the referee’s whistle at the Viet Tri Stadium and were rewarded with the opener in the 19th minute with midfielder Bui Hoang Son finding the back of the net.
Chinese Taipei fought back but while they were able to prevent Vietnam from scoring again, the equaliser eluded the East Asians.
Vietnam had to wait till the 73rd minute for their second goal, courtesy of midfielder Nguyen Le Phat.
Substitute Nguyen Hoang Anh scored their third in the 80th with Le Phat concluding the proceedings with his second goal two minutes later.
