Vietnam is hosting the first Toyota Mekong Club Championships, which attracts the best football teams from the Mekong countries of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Vietnam’s Becamex Binh Duong team is representing Vietnam in the competition, which runs from October 31 to November 2.
The winning team will be awarded the championship cup and US$75,000, while the best player will receive US$3,000.
In a press conference on September 12, Kyoichi Tanaka from Toyota Group said sponsoring the competition is part of Toyota’s commitment to nurturing young football talents in the region.
He also pledged to continue support for the championships in the future.
