With an eye on the SEA Games, Vietnam coach Alfred Riedl is scouting for young talent to make up for the exclusion of six players from the national side due to age restrictions.
Under the Games rules, only players under the age of 23 can participate in the tournament and this has ruled out four defenders and two midfielders from Riedl”s side.
The Austrian coach has enrolled 20 new players, mostly defenders and midfielders, to infuse fresh blood into the squad. SThe new boys are from K.Khanh Hoa, Huda Hue, Song Da Nam Dinh, TMN.CSG, P.SLNA, Dong A.TP, and HL.Binh Dinh”, Riedl said.
Meanwhile, the U-23 side will train from October 1-16 at the Viva Sports Training Centre in Austria.
